On Pinterest I have a board named “Gorgeous or grotesque?” that serves as a container for images that for some unknown reason fascinate me, whereas I’d rather they wouldn’t. I’ve just recently found another subject to add: Victorian post-mortem photography, especially when aimed to make the deceased seem alive.
